They are vampiric companions and daughters of the goddess Hecate (the goddess of magic and night) and are supposed to follow Hecate to earth from the depths of the underworld. Calista however rejects her identify as a companion of Hecate and refuses to serve and associate to the goddess.

In the great war against the Wichrs and against the Moonlake Order of the Knights in the 19th century, Calista was leading an army of vampires and ghouls. She was on the field, fighting with her golden sword named in the legends : Acerola. It is a sword made of gold and darkness that she pulls out of her own shadow. Her fighting style is aggressive and unpredictable, she's fast, brutal and shows no mercy, it's a bloody spectacle. She takes all the hits and dodges none in a manic masochism, each one of her wounds is received with a sick pleasure as her laughter echoes on the battle field which caused great terror to her opponents.

chapter one : the curse.

from the 14h century to the 18th century

Princess Sun of the Joseon Royal Family, daughter of Hyojong of Joseon and Queen Inseon. Sun's beauty was famous throughout the entire realm and beyond. Countless people would line up outside her castle just to see her. Anyone encountering her for the first time was shocked that her beauty exceeded any expectation, and they would bring her countless gifts everyday. Despite the many suitors, it was the chinese prince of the Qing Dynasty she married. However, Sun was miserable, lonely, living a life only known for her beauty, like a painting. She quickly became depressed and marked with suicidal thoughts.She decided to escape on a night, in order to visit the famous Bukhansan Mountains Witch, known for greeting any wish for the right price. Sun asked for her inner beauty to finally be "seen and appreciated" instead of simply being admired for her looks. However, the witch did not such thing, fully knowing the reason behind Sun's inhuman charms. The blood of the goddess Hecate was running down Sun's veins from a dormant blood line of lamiae. The goddess Hecate, goddess of Magic and goddess of the night. The witch was faithful to Hecate, therefore lied to Sun, pretending to greet her wish when instead, she performed an exorcistic ritual to kill the mortal side of Sun, only leaving the Lamia side of her alive, for her to serve their one and only goddess, Hecate. Sun was now fully a lamia, an immortal daughter of the goddess Hecate, a vampiristic daimon feeding on blood and flesh.Sun only realized something was wrong when she returned to the castle. As a reborn lamia, unable to control her hypnotic power and charms, her beauty was even more powerful, something that would drive everyone around her insane. It did. After seeing Sun again, her husband, father and mother felt irrational guilt for being unworthy of such a beautiful ethereal being and killed themselves out of this guilt. People were so astounded by Sun's new aura that instead of giving her material gifts they gave her their most valuable possessions: their lives. Corpses of those who committed suicide for the princess piled up outside her castle. Sun was devastated, to everywhere she would go, only suicide and death would follow her. She wanted this "curse" to be lifted however, it was not reversible and in any case, the witch was nowhere to be found. Her journey started : revenge.Crossing countries hopeless, began a path marked with rage for Sun. She was discovering her power through madness, her inhuman strength, her speed that she was using to make the creatures of the night talk, with one and only question at her lips : where is the witch. Not knowing the answer to that question would only lead Sun to kill and kill generations of creatures of the night, also in hate of what she has become : one of them, refusing to bow to Hecate, refusing to accept she became this immortal beast and that it cost her everything she had.

chapter one : the great war against the witches

from the 19th to the 20th century

The urban legend of the vampiric lamia she became, daughter of Hecate, started being written. Her many adventures of the 19th century were the bloodiest and gave her countless nicknames, with one that survived the centuries : Calixtus Orion. Calixtus meaning " The most beautiful " as her beauty remained unchanged. Orion being the most perceptible constellation in the summer sky when her rage is known to be the most destructive, it's the constellation of the hunter.She raised armies and fought in the legendary War she started in the said 19th century : the great war against the witches. Her goal was too keep looking for the power the witches used to change her while of course, exterminating all of them out of this dark passion for watching the species suffer, animated, roughless. The Moonlake Order of the knights joined the war : they were a powerful order of immortal knights who were in charge of maintaining peace on earth, with the purpose of taking Calista down due to the chaos she has brought down. After many won battles on her side, Calista however looses the war at the eve of the 20th century and gets arrested by the Order. With help, she manages to escape before the trial.In the 20th century, she gave up, gave up on the fight and instead only wanted to die. Her quest was pointless. Sadly, her immortality was still in the way. Her suicide attempts were also, pointless. More and more helpless, she has tried to kill herself in many ways but her power of regeneration wouldn't go away - or on the contrary, become even stronger. She even sacrificied herself to hunters - as generations of these either tremble before her name or make it a life mission to haunt her down. Even that, did not work.Nothing truly animated her anymore. Her reputation remained among the night community : as an unbeatable psychotic vampiristic blood sucking flesh eating killer traitor of the Night, she took pride in it, however nobody would ever associate with her any longer. Humans seemed to be the only thing she could possibly have left if only she didn't despise them.

chapter two : to bring death upon

the 21st century

In the 21st century, a new page opens for Calista. In the world of humans where she hides for now, new powers are rising. Powers related to time manipulation that seemed to come directly from the gods. Calista is intrigued, wondering if these powers could be grand enough to help her end her immortality. A company shields that power, RLC : the revolving lantern corportation, a secretive business that welcomes humans right before their death in order to re-evaluate their lives with them. As a powerful entity of the night, Calista is invited to become a shareholder of the company. The woman accepts, eager to discover what type of time manipulation powers are hidding behind this factory of redemption and memories. Her objective is simple : to discover any power that may be worth it, and perhaps, finally, fulfill her ultimate goal : to undo her immortality. It goes beyond that however, why stopping at her Own immortality if she gets her hands on a power SO grand it could end ALL immortalities? The ultimate revenge to her.

Quinn believes in justice. A justice she does not find within the authorities. She is at the head of the gang Black Fang, along with her partner in crime and lover Taiyang. Quinn believes in self made justice and carries to gang towards one goal : eat the rich, redistribute their wealth, punish them.

Quinn used to be a ballet dancer, classes she received gracefully at the forest house she grew up in. Therefore she is flexible and uses that when fighing. Her combat style is smart. Knowing she is a light weight, she dodges, fast, efficiently, like a cat, quick on her feet, flexible, elegant. The only hits she takes on purpose are the ones that will give her proximity with her enemy, enough for her to strike back. She uses knives and daggers the most, sharp and silent as she touches strategically into her opponant to neutralize them : wrists, neck, behind the knees. She slices and stabs. She also uses guns when she has no choice and has to deal with distance even though it isn't her strong suit.

Her ride is a Kawasaki Ninja 400 of the color red. Even though the Black Fang gang mainly deals with cars, hers is always a motorcycle . She is fast, sharp and agile on the road.

chapter one : the world can be ours.

Life hasn't been tender to Ara. Raised by a single mother, her childhood has been marked by a severe money struggle. A mother that was diagnosed schizophrenic when Ara was around the age of 5. The woman being in denial, she did not accept any treatment and kept on raising her daughter the way she wanted to. However due to that unstability, it was Ara who ended up being responsible of her mother : lying for her to social services in order not for them to be separated, covering for her mother mental multiple crisis that would always put them in debts and in danger. At the age of 10, the mother was placed in a mental institute and Ara, moved to a foster house. The little girl was brillant, down to earth, keen for her young age. She could benefit of an aid to gracefully attend ballet classes, which was close to her only highlight in life. Ara managed to go through school with remarkable marks despite her situation and even came to the conclusion that later : she wanted to become a psychiatrist, to help her mother and women like her.The said mother got out of psych yard eventually, and it was on and off between the clinic and "home". Ara was growing up however and was less and less feeling sorry for her mother, less and less willing to help her, realizing her mother was taking and taking from her without never giving back. It was of Ara's duty to pay for everything, leading the young girl to have to work for it. Crappy waitress part times she was cumulating to put herself through high school first and then medical school in college. Ara had to give up on ballet classes as her free time was dedicated to earn money to survive. Ara was sometimes even working events by night in the rich neighborhoods, as a waitress of receptionnist. The young woman was always treated like dirt by both the clients she was serving and her pairs at medical school, due to her social status. She wasn't the type to take it however, feisty and angry, she would always defend herself, fighting even, if she had to. More and more violent, she lost many jobs due to her insubordination.By the age of 21, she meets Taiyang, the love of her life. He was just a rascal from the other side of the town - the snobby students she was evolving with would look down on him whenever he would pick her up after class and drive her away in his brand new car. She couldn't care less of what people would say, she loved him. Taiyang was the only one who looked at her the way he did, who treated her the way he did. She stayed madly in love, knowing she would do anything for him and for him. Together, they dreamed of the life they never had, a life where this injustice, this gap between social classes would be defeated. Many of the girls Ara was truly friends with were younger girls from the orphanage and foster families, girls who suffered on the daily, girls she wanted to help. It was her motivation to start stealing, smartly, from rich clients from the restaurants and events she was waitressing in.

chapter two : in the south of the city.

Taiyang and her were at the top of the world. By working this justice all by themselves, Ara felt alive, she felt like finally, she found meaning by managing to help. A new life philosophy and power unlocked to her, a power that came with greed too. The more their schemes and strategies paid off to get some money, the bigger they wanted that money to be. That day arrived where it was her turn to need that help : in order to pay for the last year of her medical training, she needed a bigger amount, bigger than anything they even stole before. The couple planned a heist, targetting a rich politician in the south of the city. The heist, however, went wrong. Not only did they get caught, the man happened to be involved with powerful mobsters who put a price of Ara and her partner's head. In order to survive, they had to accept the help of Black Fang, Taiyang's dad gang. A gang that was notorious on the underground scene, a gang that Taiyang was supposed to be heir of yet always refused to. It signed the beginning of a new life for them : a path of crime. Ara's dream to become a doctor had to seize, unable to carry her studies which saddened her, she was about to commit to become something else, an outlaw.Ara was smart, smart enough to be useful in various heists and plan executions, smart enough to know exactly what she was doing, all the time. She figured Black Fang could be useful after all, if Taiyang accepted his leadership, they could turn things around and have the gang serve their interests for justice. Naturally, she became his Queen, second in charge of the gang and earned respect thanks to her intellect. Ara trained as well, for combat, for fight, with determination knowing she had to know how to defend herself in the street. Did she enjoy it? The violence of the new world she had fallen into? She did. Little by little her mind was twisting. Nobody was calling her Ara anymore in the underground scene, she was nicknamed Quinn.You haven't changed, daughter, you've always been like this, craving violence even through your glorious speeches about Justice. You simply don't remember yourself the way I do - I have raised you. It's not justice you want, it's punishment. You haven't unlocked your head like the way I did, don't you hear them, louder and louder in your head, these other versions of you who crave blood? Would say her own mother.

Quinn often goes over to Annie's, to patch up her wounds and scars as Quinn embraced a life of vigilantism, a life of night and crime. Annie is one of the rare who knows about Quinn's double life. His business has been growing to the point that he has a great influence and a large territory on the underground scene. Their exchanges are usually unconflictual and Yamazaki's club and Quinn's Gang club also have business in common. However, Quinn perfectly knowing how unstable Yamazaki is, she does not trust him. In fact, there is a specific case of disappearing escort girls he seems connected and in which he keeps on saying it has nothing to do with him, a large smile on. Quinn keeps an eye on this "ally" of theirs.

Quinn is stopped by the Black Night during her terroristic attempt, however, Gaya is warned of Quinn's actions. Gaya warns Quinn and the Black Fang gang to stay away from her father : something Quinn and the others do not listen to. Gaya has all the political sphere power on her side however and decides to punish Quinn one day, her plan : to send her to prison for crimes she did not commit and watch her rot there.

Yoona used to work for the Octogon club where she was an escort girl. Truth is, Quinn is only mean to her as she does not understand how Yoona can be this kind and smily after everything horrible she went through. She catches Quinn being Quinn, forcing her to reveal her vigilante identity. Quinn also understands Felicity is related to the Black Knight, two figures Quinn considers "on her way" now. Will the girls fight each other to no tomorrow or wave the white flag in the end? Perhaps for the sake of their mutual friend, Annie.

Loyal, faithful, the darken days and the bright ones have been shared with him with a beer by the banks or on a road, speeding down the highway at the end of a night of fire and celebration. On this underground scene where Quinn and Taiyang will soon be at the head of the Black Fang gang, Lee might be their only real ally, a powerful asset, a brother in the revolution they're about to start. A tragedy occurs however, as Taiyang and Quinn are taking the lead in the gang, Lee is attacked, currently in a coma. It pushes Quinn into a vengeful and angry spirit, Lee becomes a sensitive point topic for her : Lee is like family to her, she swears to understand what happened and find who did this to him.

Detectuve Lee Hyuk is working a case of heists : cleanly executed ones. The culprit of course is Quinn, along with her partner in crime Taiyang. This detectve is good and is getting close to solving the same. The plan is simple : the gang is sending Quinn, to pose as a junior detective freshly assigned to the presinct the detective works at. This way, by playing this role of a young woman willing to learn the rope of the job, her goal will be to sabotaging his investigation. Long nights are spent working with him, as diligent and determined as he is. They talk, about morals, about ethics, which makes Quinn reflect, as a vigilante : are they truly on the same side of justice? Why do the authorities consider her as a criminal, then?

The gumihos are nine-tailed fox spirits. They are foxes that have lived for a thousand years, accumulating a great deal of energy, turn into gumiho. They then gain the ability to shape shift into a human, usually a seductive one to approach humans : then feeding on humans vital energy to survive. Ruby is a young gumiho who has been resilent to absorb the humans energy. She therefore isn't too powerful among her pairs. When her own energy is too low, her tails are showing. When feeding on vital energy, she uses a red marble she wears around her neck, one that she places in the mouth of her victim in order to absorb their energy.

chapter one : the millennium fox.

Ruby's original form was a fox, one that lived for a thousand years in the forests around the Bukhansan mountains and accumulated enough energy to turn into a human. Her first day as as a biped creature was one made of sole amnesia. The memories of the forest only felt like dreams, her 1000 years lived as a fox : a blur. She has been guided, by older gumihos who found her by the river. The creatures, despite not living in packs, were always re-uniting in order to teach the younger ones, the freshly born, to prevent any disturbance within the species.The gumihos are more malevolent than other fox spirits, requiring to absord humans vital energy to survive, sometimes even killing and eating humans for their own pleasure. It was the way taught from the elders to Ruby. Her first victim would be her first meal : a woodworker who was coming every morning in the forest, cutting wood for his father's business. The young gumiho charmed him into coming back to the forest day and night to meet with her. However, Ruby soon realized that she found solace in the company of this human she was supposed to devour, failing on her first mission, falling for him, instead of feeding on him.She escaped the forest with him. Reckless, naive and uneducated by her pairs, in a way she only saw herself as fully human and did not comprehend the depth of her own nature. Happy, she experienced her love at first, getting ready for marriage - however, as time passed, there was one element against which she failed to fight : her hunger. No matter how much her lover managed to feed her, she would get sick, lacking of vital energy. Due to that, one night, she almost turned back into a fox, her tails showing, the red of her hair intensifying as if returning to the color of her original fur. It scared the human : the man ran. Desperate, Ruby ran after him, to stop him, to beg him to stay with her. Followed a terrible fight, one that got physical, causing the man to fall from an height: he died. In shock, Ruby ran down to hold him, crying, apologizing, to finally kiss him as he was perishing. It unlocked her marble : one that each gumihos has, a stone they place in the mouth of their target in order to absorb their vital energy.

chapter two : among the humans.

In the years that followed, Ruby had nowhere to go. With her first love dying because of her and after disobeying to the rules of the forest, she wondered in the cities. In order not to die of cold nor loneliness, she began to approach new humans again. Her charms were undeniable, her targets would always take her in, feed her, take care of her. It was often lonely souls she would connect with. If her goal was to always have a roof and a meal at first - history would repeat itself : Ruby would emotionally connect with each human, making her obsessed with the thought of turning human herself and staying with them forever. However, the said humans would always end up perishig in her arms, with her absorbing their vital energy at the very last.A paradox was born. She would cry and cry and cry on the graves of the deceased, claiming she loved them with all her heart, still covered in dripping blood on her white dresses and remains of her victims by the corner of her mouth.Ruby? Don't ever come near her... She falls for humans, she kills them while crying her eyes out and then pretends it wasn't her. She despises what she is, she despises us all, us, gumihos. Her hate for her own kind will lead her to turn against us, she could harm any of us. Rumors says she already had. She's a disgrace.

Her victim, yet the closest human to her these days. Ruby always does what she does : whenever she finds herself without a home nor a human to follow around, she gets herself a new one. Her move : to break into their apartment and fall asleep on the floor, like she did with Haru. The man being the kind heart he is, decided to take care of Ruby, keep her with him. They became roommates and actually best friends as well. Ruby cares for Haru to the point she is scared she might one day hurt him. Even though she gives him a hard time being bratty and turning his life upside down for fun, she wouldn't have survived in he cold without him this year.

For Ruby, if family had a name, it would be Reiko’s. There is tenderness in the way Ruby sees the younger girl, like a little sister the fox simply wants to protect. They explore the city, the forest, the depths of the woods together, curious about their place in the world and where does this pain come, of not entirely being like everyone else. Outsiders they are, but at least they have each other. Only Yokai surrounds Reiko, creatures, just like them, who never truly fit. Either these creatures become Ruby and Reiko’s friends or their enemies, the black haired and the red haired stay united, in helping these creatures or defeating them through their adventures.

Lucy is a bakeneko and well, millenium foxes and monster cats do Not get along. Lucy is also the new girlfriend of Ruby's best friend - Haru. Ruby can't help but to be extremely protective of Haru which leads her to overstep in their relationship. There a little bit of jealousy as well, it's not that Ruby has feelings for Haru, it's just that she likes to spend time with him and have fun with him which is less and less possible due to Lucy constantly being around. Lucy appears adorable and nice to everyone around her but Ruby cannot be fooled : she doesn't trust Lucy and is determined to expose her bad attentions.

Grace is Ruby's vital energy. As the fox refuses to absorb human's to survive, it's into Grace's mouth that she places her marble to feed herself. Grace is a witch and therefore has a power of regeneration that keeps her alive despite Ruby's hunger. It is a little dangerous, to feed on someone the way Ruby do, without letting the urge to kill overwhelm her. Yet, the strength and intimacy of the bond between the two makes it comfortable. Under the sun or away from prying eyes, Grace's hands are fimly held by Ruby's who dearly cherishes the witch. Ruby would do anything for Grace, in return, grateful for her.

The last time

Jay has known Ilana since their 20s, back in 2015. She was the Yoko Ono to his John Lennon as they both played music together, off and on stage. It was at Jay's that she was living at after being kicked out of her family's house due to her unstability. An unstability that put Jay's life upside down as well. They became friends however, a special bond where they would watch over each other's hearts. Even though Ilana was the unstable one she brought warmth to Jay. They reconnected recently and nothing has changed. Now that Ilana has a daughter however she tends to ask Jay for help, with the money, a lot, too much. His soul is too good to say no, "it's the last time" he says, even though it never really is.

Ilana meets Iwai during her times in Japan back in her young days. She ends up working at an antiquities shop to make some pocket money : the Gecko. It becomes a place for her to heal from her traumas away from Seoul. Iwai works there for years already and so becomes her co-worker. The man is silent, cold and detached, yet, in all her delusional and disturbed vision of the reality she considers him her best friend, the closest person to her as she does not know anybody else in Tokyo. it is almost comical, how excited and eccentric she is next to the stoic man. She is thankful however, it is thanks to his company that her borderline and self destructive tendencies have been kept away.

Ilana was born in nyc in a wealthy family. her dad was the owner of a popular entertainment company. She started singing and dancing at very young age. This picture perfect got tainted fast enough, first with the death of her mother out of a heart condition and soon with her father's losing his company to one of his business partners. The absence of reliable motherly figure and the degradation of their living conditions, Ilana's mental health was constantly on the verge of breaking as the young girl went through many depressions and intense rage outbursts starting the age of 12. At the age of 18, she got diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. At the age of 21, Ilana spiraled even furthur, convinced her mother didn't get sick but murdered : which was completely false. It quickly turned into an obsession laced with paranoia.

Her paranoia became chronic and little by little spreading to other aspects of her life. Ilana had to take care of herself, considering the disastrous state the home of the Chos have been left in after losing everything. She quickly enough ended up in the bad corners of Seoul, doing what it took to get a roof above her head. Her alias was the Songstress as she was known for her singing, from bars to bars, from clubs to clubs. She joins a bikers gang in 2014, from a relationship with their leader, one who offers her protection and brotherhood from the members. It's not all roses and daisies however. In love, she’s a passionnate as well but to the point of being obsessive. Too much. Many fights with her, she would think the man was cheating and lying, it goes down to paranoia, again. The fights are violent, abusive, on both sides. The gang was powerful and known to dabble in many illegal scenes. It's due to her activities in that gang that Ilana gets a criminial record, arrested in 2015. Ilana testifies against the leader who is condamned to years in prison for being the master mind of the operations, which, wasn't true. She then packs her bags and leaves the gang.To this day, the man never knew Ilana actually got pregnant from him. Knowing how terrible of a man he was, the woman simply did not want to raise a child with him, she did not want to raise a child in such toxic and violent environment. Everyone who knows what she did believes what she did was lunacy, insane to decide to raise her daughter on her own and to lie about the father. But in her head it was the best for her and her child. Yes, her daughter becomes her salvation. Luna is her name. This small world she created for the both of them that no father was allowed in is magical. Her little girl, Luna, won't be aware of everything Ilana did, has to do to give her the best she can give her, even though it comes with lies and secrets, it comes with unconditional love too. Ilana is 31 now, she is doing better yet still struggling. Now working as a Singer at the Black Velvet speakeasy, Ilana does her best to keep a roof above Luna's head and food in their plates. More and more patrons fall for her charms to the point it gives her the idea to aim for men with pockets even deeper. Often, she finds herself in the prestigious areas of Seoul, dressed and covered in the jewels and designer her lovers buy for her. More and more fall into her trap : a conwoman, many would call her.Her lifestyle comes with debts, it comes with sacrifice and most of all, it comes with secrets. The men who have been involved with Ilana for a little too long always ended up in a pretty tragic way. It was two funerals that she had to attend, crying in Vintage prada of how much she loved these men. It did draw a bit of attention to her : how come all the men crossing her paths, falling for her, living with her end up either missing or buried?

There is this world that Ilana created for her little girl, a world where Ilana has left no space for all the secrecy of her night work and night life.
